Depending on the server you have, you will have an an guaranteed bandwidth associated with the server. It ranges from 200 Mbps to 500 Mbps.
SYS servers come with 1 Gbps network connection and the bandwidth which can pass through is 200 Mbps. OVH servers has 1 Gbps / 10Gbps network connection but start with 300 Mbps and depending on the model it can go upwards to 500 Mbps for bandwidth.
OVH servers are able to utilize the full 1 Gbps / 10 Gbps network connection, however this is only possible when your transferred within the OVH network and as incoming traffic. This means if you have two OVH servers, you transfer data between the two servers at 1 Gbps / 10 Gbps. Please remember that whilst you can make use of the full connection, the network speeds will be vary depending on network over heads and any other applications which is also making use of the network connection.
If your transferring data from OVH to SYS servers, this will be at 200 Mbps, OVH servers is able to transfer data internally at 1 Gbps / 10 Gbps and SYS server is considered as an internal network connection, however SYS servers can only manage incoming data at 200 Mbps hence why it will not be making use of the full 1 Gbps / 10 Gbps network connection from OVH.
If you wish to do the reverse from SYS servers to OVH, this will also be done at 200 Mbps as SYS servers can only transfer data at this speed.
Here is a summary of the server bandwidth:
|Connection: 1 Gbps||Connection: 1 Gbps / 10 Gbps|
|Internal: 200 Mbps||Internal: 1 Gbps / 10 Gbps|
|Incoming: 200 Mbps||Incoming: 1 Gbps / 10 Gbps|
|Outgoing: 200 Mbps||Outgoing: 300 Mbps – 500 Mbps|
Only the EG-128, HG and the BIG HG servers within the infrastructure range has the 10 Gbps connection.
