Normally most OS doesn’t have PHP installed, however if you wish to have a website on your server you would need to install PHP.

Under linux you would install the latest version with:

sudo apt-get install php7.0

The PHP will be installed to the server. By default many people will try to view the phpinfo.php file which is described at phpinfo.

Its recommended that you use the latest supported version of PHP rather than an older supported version, this will allow you to have much longer support and updates for your PHP.

The PHP page may not load up or show a white page, this is because the PHP is missing a dependency, we need to install the remaining dependency of:

apt-get install libapache2-mod-php7.0
