Debian Configuration

If you have installed an Debian core, you would only have the SSH access by default. You can look to install other stuff to the server such as an graphical user interface. We can do this with the following commands:

Installing a interface.

apt-get install xfce4

Installing other xfce applications.

apt-get install xfce4-*

Installing Firefox

Add the following to the location of: /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/ubuntuzilla/mozilla/apt all main

Add key.

apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com C1289A29

Update sources.

apt-get update

Install Firefox.

apt-get install firefox-mozilla-build

Installing Libreoffice

Install Libreoffice 3

apt-get install libreoffice

Add the following to the location of: /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ wheezy-backports main

Update sources.

apt-get update

Install Libreoffice 4

apt-get -t wheezy-backports install libreoffice
